When two or three are gathered together….. Morning Prayer is one of the Daily Offices of the Church. At Saint Peter’s it is read every weekday morning at 8:00 a.m. in the Good Shepherd Chapel. We follow the liturgy of the Book of Common Prayer, generally Rite II but occasionally, at the discretion of the day’s leader, Rite I. Scripture readings follow the two-year cycle of the Daily Offices, though it has become our custom to recite the Psalms sequentially, thereby reading the entire Psalter twice a year. The services seldom last longer than twenty-five minutes. Our small band of Saint Peter’s parishioners, neighbors, and occasional passers-by find Morning Prayer a way to center our lives, praying to God on behalf of the world.
The Holy Eucharist is the central act of worship for Episcopalians, celebrating the presence of Christ among us. Every Sunday at 10:30 AM, we gather to share in the sacred meal of bread and wine, commemorating the Last Supper. Our vibrant music and choir enrich this joyful and reverent celebration, making it a spiritually uplifting experience for all.
Join us at 9:15 AM for a lively and enriching discussion of the day’s scripture readings. Together, we explore the appointed lessons and Gospel, diving deeper into their meaning and relevance for our lives. This interactive study offers an opportunity to ask questions, share insights, and prepare our hearts and minds for the Eucharistic celebration to follow. Whether you’re a lifelong Bible reader or just beginning your journey with scripture, all are welcome to come, learn, and grow in faith with us.
Our midweek Eucharist offers a time to step away from the trials and tribulations of daily life and find renewal in God’s presence. Whether you’re seeking solace, strength, or simply a moment of quiet in a busy week, the midweek Eucharist is a time to reconnect with God and be nourished in body and spirit.
